Marlins Beat the Dodgers Dramatically in the 9th

The Marlins strike first in the bottom of the 3rd by a solo home run by Chris Coghlan. The Dodgers answer back in the top of the 4th with lead off single by Jamey Carroll and then 2 outs later Jerry Sands brought him home on a single to center field.

Coghlan hit another solo home run in the bottom of the 6th to give the Marlins the lead back at 2-1. Dodgers again answer back in the next half inning with a ground out that brought in Tony Gwynn Jr. by Aaron Miles and an RBI single by Jamey Carroll to first tie the game and then to give the Dodgers their first lead at 3-2. James Loney hit an RBI single in the top of the 8th to extend the Dodger lead to 4-2. Gaby Sanchez got the Marlins deficit back to 1 with a RBI single with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th bringing Coghlan in, 4-3 Dodgers. Coghlan at this point had scored all of the Marlins runs.

Brian Sanches comes into relieve in the top of the 9th and throws a perfect inning. In the bottom of the 9th Greg Dobbs struck out hitting lead off and John Buck grounded out for the 2nd out, looked like Jonathan Broxton would recieve the save. Broxton then walked Emilio Bonifacio, the Marlins bring in Hanley Ramirez to pinch hit for Donnie Murphy as Hanley had the day off since he had been in a slump, Hanley gets the off the bench single continuing hope for the Marlins, Scott Cousins reached 1st due to a fielding error on Jamey Carroll and the Marlins tieing run in Emilio Bonifacio scored, Broxton intentionally walked Coghlan, and Omar Infante hit a walk off single bringing in the game winning run in Hanley Ramirez.

Marlins win 4-3. Brian Sanches recieved the win and Jonathan Broxton with the loss. Marlins are now 14-7 on the season.
