Vick single handedly beats the Redskins; Eagles vs. Redskins

Michael Vick, Eagles quarterback, scored 42 points, 4 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. Vick threw 88 yards to DeSean Jackson on the 1st play from scrimmage for a touchdown, Jackson's 1st of 2 catches of the game (7-0 Eagles). Eagles scored 6 times in the 1st half in 8 drives. Vick rushed 7 yards for a touchdown on the Eagles second drive after going 63 yards in 5 plays (14-0 Eagles). 7 plays after a Donovan McNabb interception, Vick to LeSean McCoy for an 11 yard passing touchdown (21-0 Eagles). McCoy is the Eagles top rusher, not in this game though, had no rushing touchdowns. Redskins weren't able to get a 1st down so they punted the ball over to the Eagles. Eagles then after 2 plays got 2 1st downs to the 50 yard line where Jerome Harrison was given the ball by Vick and rushed in 50 yards for a touchdown (28-0 Eagles). Harrison caught a 15 yards reception by Vick to set up his 50 yard run. The 1st play of the 2nd quarter was a 48 yard pass by Vick to Jeremy Maclin for a touchdown (35-0 Eagles). The ruling that the ball broke the plane was challenged by Mike Shanahan, Redskins head coach, and the ruling was upheld for a touchdown. The Redskins finally answered back, 1st play of the drive was for 71 yards by McNabb to Fred Davis, and the 2nd play was a 3 yard touchdown by McNabb to Darrel Young (35-7 Eagles). Young's only catch of the game. Eagles for the 1st time game the ball over to the Redskins not by kick off. Sav Rocca punted for the 1st time. McNabb threw to Keiland Williams for another touchdown (35-14 Eagles). Rocca punted again and McNabb threw an interception to Dimitri Patterson. Eagles capitalized off this turnover. Vick ran for 21 yards to set up a 6 yard touchdown run, again Vick (42-14 Eagles). This was Vick's 2nd rushing touchdown of the game. Redskins weren't capable of getting a first down and punted to Eagles which DeSean Jackson returned for 12 yards. The Eagles were only able to come out with a field goal, a 48 yard attempt was nailed by David Akers (25-14 Eagles). The last play of the 1st half was a McNabb being sacked for -13 yards by Trevor Laws. The Redskins got the ball first after half time 9 plays after kickoff Keiland Williams rushed for 4 yards for a touchdown (45-21 Eagles). The Eagles answer back in 11 plays, 1 delay of game penalty, with Vick throwing to Jason Avant for a 3 yard touchdown (52-21 Eagles). On the 3rd play of the Redskins next drive McNabb was intercepted by Dimitri Patterson, 2nd interception on the night, which he returned 40 yards for 6 points, extra point good by Akers (59-21 Eagles). Back-to-back drives ended with punts by Redskins and Eagles. Redskins gain 4 1st downs to Eagles' 32 yard line that set up a 32 yard touchdown run by Keiland Williams (59-28 Eagles). That was the only score in the 4th quarter.

Michael Vick ended up having 20 completions of 28 attempts for 333 yards, 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions passing. Michael Vick, rushing, had 8 carries for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. His longest run was a 21 yards. Donovan McNabb had 17 completions of 31 attempts for 295 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Jerome Harrison was the top rusher of the game with 11 carries for 109 yards and 1 touchdown. The touchdown run was his longest of the game, 50 yards. DeSean Jackson was the top receiver with only 2 catches for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. Longest catch was the very first from the scrimmage a 88 yard touchdown pass from Vick. 4 Eagles' receivers had 1 touchdown; DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, and LeSean McCoy (listed as running back). David Akers was 8-for-8 on extra points and 1-for-1 on field goals. Graham Gano was 4-for-4 on extra points and didnt attempted any field goals. Eagles' had 592 net yards and Redskins' had 375 net yards. Both teams committed 6 penalties, Eagles' lost 35 yards from them and Redskins' 41 yards. Both teams were 100% in the red zone efficiency and goal to go efficiency.

I don't get how people can say Vick is changed just because he played great during this game. Yes, Vick is an awesome football but changed as a person? How can we tell by how he plays? I still dislike him and I probably will never like him. At first I knew a lot of people that were Eagles' fans that hated the idea of Vick but now that he's playing awesome they've jumped on his band wagon. So I guess it's just like a book who cares what happens in the begining or in the middle, how ever it ends is the way we remember it. So forget what he did to those innocent dogs in Atlanta since he can run and pass? I don't think so. He is one hell of a player but I'm grateful my team didn't pick him up. I'd rather have good citizens with talent than criminals with extraordinary talent.

Cowboys vs. Redskins

So I'll just say it now, I'm a Cowboys fan.

The Cowboys blew the game last night. As a Cowboys fan I was so excited that they released Flozell Adams because that meant no more stupid offensive penalties, but as most know that wasn't nearly the truth. The Cowboys had 12 penalities for 91 yards while the Redskins had 5 penalities for 42 yards.  The penalty that football fans will remember for a while is the one done by Alex Barron with the game on the line. Tony Romo had thrown a touchdown pass to Roy Williams with 0:00 on the scoreboard in the 4th quarter but the game would be ended without the touchdown counting with a holding call on Barron. 

The last play in the half is what doomed the Cowboys. The dreadful play calling of Jason Garrett haunted the Cowboys again.  He calls a play for Romo to throw a short pass to Tashard Choice who then was hit by a few Redskin defenders, DeAngelo Hall was able to strip the ball and recieve his and the Redskins first defensive touchdown of the season. The score was 10-0 at the half.

The Cowboys defense was dominating the game even with tons of mishaps.  Graham Gano went to kick a field goal in the second half but another penalty on the Cowboys gave them a first down. The Cowboys defense was able to get the ball back to Romo without any farther damage on the score board.

The whole offseason and countdown shows was all about McNabb being traded to the Redskins by the Eagles.  So this game was the debut of Donovan McNabb being cheered in FedEx Field rather than being booed. McNabb left the game with all the hype leading to nothing besides a win. McNabb had a 63.4% rating, 15/32 completions/attempts, 171 yards passing, and 17 yards rushing. While Romo had a 89.1% rating, 31/47 completions/attempts, 282 passing yards, and 1 touchdown.

The Redskins should thank the Cowboys giving them the win so easily. If for one time the Cowboys could have a game without so many stupid Pee Wee mistakes the Cowboys would be 1-0.
