The San Francisco Giants traveled to Texas with a 2-0 lead in the World Series, both wins at home. After Game 3, they left Rangers Ballpark with a 1 game lead, 2-1. The final score of the game was 4-2 Rangers. All the scores for scored off home runs.
In the 2nd inning Mitch Moreland hit a 3 run home run which brought Nelson Cruz (has 5 postseason home runs), who doubled, Bengie Molina, who walked, and himself to home plate. In the 5th inning Josh Hamilton (5th in postseason) hit a solo home run. In innings 7 and 8 the Giants tried to stage a come back with solo home runs by Cody Ross (5th in postseason) in the 7th and Andres Torres in the 8th.
Both starting pitchers got a 'decision', Colby Lewis, of the Rangers, got the win while Jonathon Sanchez, of the Giants, go the lose. Also, Neftali Feliz got the save. Colby Lewis pitched for a total of 7 innings and 2 outs of the 8th inning allowing only 5 hits, 2 runs both earned home runs, walked 2, and had 6 strike outs. Jonathon Sanchez pitched for 4 innings and 2 outs in the 5th allowing 6 hits, 4 runs all earned, 2 home runs, walked 3, and had 3 strike outs. Neftali Feliz pitched only 1 inning, the 9th, allowing no hits, no runs, no walks, and 2 strike outs.
Not much to talk about but I found it cool that all the scores were from home runs.

Helu Jr. runs past Mizzou for school record; Mizzou vs. Nebraska
En route to a Nebraska Husker 31-17 victory over Big XII North rival Missouri Tigers, Roy Helu Jr. posted a school record of rushing yards in a single game. Roy Helu Jr. had 307 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns within 4 quarters. All 3 of the touchdowns were from 50+ yards out. The first run was for a 66 yard touchdown which was the first offensive play from scrimmage from the Huskers, the second run was 73 yard touchdown also in the 1st quarter, and then a 53 yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Helu Jr. moved Calvin Jones to second for that school record of most single game rushing yards, he rushed for 294 yards in 1991. Helu also holds the record for single game rushing yards for this season in FBS, in second is Ray Graham of Pittsburgh rushing for 277 yards while playing Florida International University.
Nebraska Huskers star freshman quarterback Taylor Martinez was pulled out during the 2nd quarter due to a deep right leg bruise. Martinez during that less than a half of play posted 6-for-9 completions for 115 yards passing, 1 touchdown passing; and 12 carries for 16 yards rushing, and 0 touchdowns rushing. Martinez average per game this season is 9-for-12 completions, 145 yards passing, and 1 touchdown passing; and 14 carries for 111 yards rushing, and 2 touchdowns rushing (all numbers are rounded up). Zac Lee, starting quarter back in the 2009 season, came in the game for Martinez. He went 1-for-3 for 11 yards passing, and 0 touchdowns. Top Nebraska receiver, Kyler Reed had 2 receptions for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. Alex Henery, place kicker and punter, streak ended at 18 for made field goals (hadn't missed or had a field goal blocked all season) when Missouri blocked a 51 yard field goal attempt in the 4th quarter.
Mizzou's quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who was commited to Nebraska until Osborne was fired as head coach (thankfully), was the top passer, but he didn't have much competition for that since the Huskers had 2 quarterbacks play, each for half the game. Gabbert 18-for-22 with 199 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. That interception was the only turnover of the game by either team. T.J. Moe, top receiver, had 5 receptions for 71 yards and 1 touchdown.
The 1st quarter was all Nebraska with 24 points, two by 60+ yards rushing by, game hero, Roy Helu Jr., a 41 yard field goal by Alex Henery, and a touchdown pass by Taylor Martinez to Kyler Reed. The 2nd quarter only had one score, De'Vion Moore ran for a 33 yard touchdown for Mizzou. The 3rd quarter had Helu Jr.'s 3rd touchdown run of the game, a touchdown pass for Mizzou, Gabber to Moe, and a field goal by Mizzou's Grant Ressel. The final score, as stated earlier, 31-17 Nebraska Huskers.
After this win the Huskers moved up 7 spots in the BCS poll from 14th to 7th! In the AP poll they are now ranked 9th and in the USA Today poll they are 10th.

NFL Week 7 in Review
A little late I know. Anyhow these are 'some' of the notable plays, stats, and such from week 7.
- Jay Cutler was picked off 4 times by DeAngelo Hall
- Drew Brees picked off by Bowen for touchdowns
- Jaguars got the 1 yard line due to penalty came out with only a field goal
- Kevin Kolb threw a pick 6 that capped the game off for the Titans

- Philip Rivers threw a lateral pass to Jacob Hester, who dropped it, neither player went to pick it up or any Patriot, after a few seconds a Patriot defender picked it up. This makes me think of the saying 'Play until the whistle' Norv Turner must not teach that philosophy
- Charger had 4 turn overs in the first half
- Aaron Rogers threw a touchdown that wasn't reviewed that should of been because it would of been overturned
- Brett Favre throws a pick 6 to a Packer defense player after limping off the field the previous drive
- The winning touchdown for the Vikings was overturned and the Vikings ended up losing 28-24
- Terrence Newman dropped a sure interception by Eli Manning then the next play got the interception
- Second Giants drive Eli Manning was intercepted again to Gerald Sensabaugh
- Dez Bryant had 3 touchdowns (4 career touchdowns)
- Tony Romo, out, with a broken collar bone and John Kitna in for the Cowboys

NASCAR: Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway
Denny Hamlin, #11 FedEx Toyota, won in Martinsville for the 3rd consecutive time, in the past 8 years only he and Jimme Johnson, #48 Lowes Chevy, has won all the races in Martinsville, 2 each season. This win puts Denny only 5 points behind points lead Jimmie Johnson in the chase, 5 time (consecutive) Sprint Cup champion.
Mark Martin, #5 Ebay/GoDaddy Chevy, finished in 2nd place after being bumped by A.J. Allmendinger, #43 Best Buy Ford, in the rear end on lap 225. On lap 248 a tire went down and he had a pit under green which put him down 2 laps. On lap 384 after a caution brought out by Kurt Busch, #2 Miller Light Dodge, and Jeff Gordon, #24 National Guard/DuPont Chevy, (I'll talk about that incident later) put Mark on the lead lap, by the lucky dog pass. By lap 424 Mark Martin was in the top 10, then by lap 476 he was in the top 5, by passing Jimmie Johnson, and then lap 496 (4 to go) he took over 2nd from Kevin Harvick but he was too far away and there wasn't enough time to catch up to Denny Hamlin for the win.
On lap 359, Jeff Burton, #31 Cat Chevy, hits his teammate Kevin Harvick, #29 Shell Chevy, during a caution, because of Sam Hornish Jr. spinning and hitting the wall. Both drivers complained about each others driving. Jeff Burton had been accused by many drivers of break checking and NASCAR went on his radio and told him to cut it out. Jeff said he wasn't doing anything and wanted a clarification. From what I could see by replays, not knowing very much about cars and break checking, he was just not laying on the gas as quickly as the cars behind him.
Before the race Richard Childress, of Richard Childress Racing, switched the crews of the #33, Clint Bowyer BB&T Chevy, and the crews of the #29 team. Kevin Harvick has had been having a hissy fit about his crew and yelling at them through the radio for bad stops. During this race his crew, with the Clint Bowyer, was in the top 5 of fastest crews during one of the caution pit stops. Misforutune hit the #33 team when Clint Bowyer spined out and hit the wall and they brought it behind the wall. Kevin Harvick records his first top 5 at Martinsville. I would say Harvick's normal crew isn't that bad but who can perform great under scrutiny from their driver. Even his nationwide crew messes up constantly, makes you think it's the driver.
Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch were both racing each other hard, but not dirtly which is not normal with Kyle Busch. During lap 448 Kyle Busch was starting to get aggressive with Jimmie Johnson trying to pass him. On lap 464 it was 'recorded' that Kyle Busch was 'very angry' with Jimmie Johnson. Kyle Busch finished 4th and Jimmie Johnson finished 5th, so obvivously Kyle was able to get around Jimmie. I'm very glad that Kyle didn't dump Jimmie like he would of normally done and his fans were probably pleading him to do. This made me sort of respect Kyle a little more, but it still isn't enough to say I respect or like or not hate him. Also supposedly Jimmie Johnson flipped off Kyle Busch during the race and Jimmie Johnson was saying he was giving Kyle plenty of room, he was being accused by Kyle of chopping him.
Joey Logano, #20 GameStop Toyota, finshed 6th. Joey had the same crew members but a different sponsor on his car. Usually the #20 car is white and orange with a Home Depot logo on the hood but this race for the first time in the longest time (maybe ever) in a sprint cup race the #20 car was black. This was Game Stop's first time sponsoring a car in a Sprint Cup series race but they are Joey's main sponsor in the nationwide series.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., #88 Amp/National Guard Chevy, finished 7th which is the 5th time this season he has finished 7th or better. 7th top 10 finish of the season. He lead for 90 laps, the most this season. Dale Earnhardt is now on a 88 race winless streak. It's always shocking when Dale Earnhardt can break the top 20. I don't see him in the Chase ever. He should do him and his fans a favor and retire. If he retires his fans will move on to another driver and it should help tv ratings and so on.
On lap 384 Jeff Gordon bumped Kurt Busch, Kurt Busch wasn't pleased at all so he dumped him. Kurt Busch finished in 16th while Jeff Gordon finished in 20th, and this ended his streak of top 10 finishes in the last 15 races at Martinsville.
Kasey Kahne, #83 Red Bull Toyota, finished in 14th. While his former team, #9 Budweiser Ford where he was released during the week from, finished in 21st with Aric Almirola behind the wheel. Kasey Kahne earlier this season said he wouldn't be returning to Richard Petty Motorsports and signed with Hendrick Motorsports for 2012 to take over the #5 car when Mark Martin's contract is up, and for the 2011 season he will drive the #82 car for Red Bull Racing since Scott Speed will be released by a performance clause in his contract. Kasey Kahne had some harsh words about RPM and with all of this it is questioning the future of the team, which makes the other teams worried if they will have a job or not.

MLB Championship Series
Both AL and NL Championship series were won in Game 6 of 7. The Texas Rangers were the first to know they were in the World Series when they beat the New York Yankees in Game 6 in Texas. The San Francisco Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia.
Josh Hamilton won ALCS MVP honors. Josh Hamilton within the ALCS went 7-for-20 (.350); with 6 runs, 7 RBI, 8 BB, and 4 HR. In Game 1 of the ALCS, the Rangers had the lead until the top of the 8th when the Yankees came back and scored 5 which led to a 6-5 win for the Yanks. That lose for the Rangers was very frustrating since they had the lead until that dreadful 8th inning where Brandon Gardner lead off with a single, then Derek Jeter hit an RBI double, Alex Rodriguez (A-Roid) hit a 2 RBI single, Robinson Cano hit an RBI single, and finally Marcus Thames hit an RBI single, all this damage was done with no outs (scoring plays). The Rangers came back for Game 2 and won 7-2. They then had a day off to travel to New York. The Rangers sent the Yankee fans out of the stadium before the game ended with an 8 to 0 win. I'm sure those fans were saddened to miss the Rangers score 6 in the top of the 9th, just putting some cushioning on their 2-0 lead..., Josh Hamilton hit a leadoff double which lead to Nelson Cruz hit an RBI single (hit Hamilton home), Bengie Molina hit an RBI single, Mitch Moreland hit a 2 RBI single, Elvis Andrus hit an RBI double, and finally Mitch Moreland scored on a wild pitch by David Robertson (scoring plays). Yet another game where most of the Yankee fans left the stadium before the last out, the Rangers won 10-3. The Rangers had 4 HRs during this game; 1 from Bengie Molina in the top of the 6th, 2 from Josh Hamilton in both the top of the 7th and the 9th, and 1 from Nelson Cruz in the top of the 9th. The first 3 games of the series the Rangers scored first and in the 1st inning. The Yankees staff threatened the Yankees to win this game to send the series back to Texas so they wouldn't have to clean up the champagne shower (party) for Texas winning the series. The Yankees won 7-2, putting some hope back to the Yankees and Yankee fans, though Yankee fans always think they can win it all... The Yankees hit 3 baseballs out of the park while Rangers hit only 1 baseball out of Yankee Stadium; for the Yankees Nick Swisher hit a solo home run, Robenson Cano hit a solo home run (both hit in the 3rd inning), and Curtis Granderson hit a solo home run in the 8th inning; Rangers only (solo) home run in this game was from Matt Treanor in the 5th inning. Rangers finished what they couldn't do in New York at home in front of their home fan base by winning Game 6, 6 to 1. Only home run in this game was a 2 run home run by Nelson Cruz in the 4th inning where they scored 4 of the 6 runs. The final out was a strike out of Alex Rodriguez, looking. Then celebration began and is probably still going, specially for the fans.
Cody Ross received NLCS MVP honors. Cody Ross during the NLCS went 7-for-20 (.350, same as Josh Hamilton); with 4 runs, 5 RBI, 2 BB, and 3 HR. Game 1 was hosted in Philadelphia, where the pitching matchup was Roy Halladay vs. Tim Lincecum. This was the first game Roy Halladay pitched after pitching a no-hitter to the Reds in Game 1 of the NLDS. Halladay gave up his first hit and run on the same pitch during the 3rd inning to a solo home run by Cody Ross, he'd end up hitting 2-for-2 off Halladay (in this game); with 2 (solo) home runs and a walk. Halladay got his first lose in postseason play with pitching only 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 4 runs (all earned), and Tim Lincecum got the winning decision with pitching 7 innings as well allowing 6 hits and 3 runs (all earned). Phillies also scored 2 home runs but by different people; solo home run by Carlos Ruiz, and a 2 run home run by Jayson Werth. Phillies won Game 2, to make up for the lose in Game 1 to their fans, by a score of 6-1. Phillies scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to secure there lead of 2-1. Roy Oswalt, starting pitcher, hit a lead off single, Placido Polanco singled in Roy Oswalt with 1 out, and Jimmy Rollins hit a 3 RBI double with 2 outs. Both teams have a travel day to head to the West Coast, San Francisco. The Giants won 3-0 for the first NLCS game at home. Cole Hamels got the losing decision but only allowed 5 hits, but all 3 runs (all earned), and he pitched for 6 innings. Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain got the win, pitching 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and no runs, and Brian Wilson, with the dyed beard, received the save only allowing 1 hit in the top of the 9th. Giants won the next game, the next day, as well by only one point (6-5). The Phillies scored 4 in the top of the 5th; Ben Francisco hit a lead off single, Shane Victorino hit a single that brought Ben Francisco home (RBI single), Placido Polanco hit a 2 RBI double, and Placido Polanco scored on a wild pitch by Santiago Casilla (scoring plays). The game was tied at 5 at during the bottom of the 9th until Aubrey Huff singled with 1 out, Buster Posey singled and Aubrey Huff got to third (scoring position) with 1 out, and then Juan Uribe hit a sacrifice fly that brought Aubrey Huff home for the win (scoring plays). The Phillies wanted a chance to win the NLCS, and at home. The Phillies won the final game in San Francisco (for the NLCS) 4-2. This was a rematch of Roy Halladay and Tim Lincecum, but this time the winning and losing decision was flipped, Halladay got the win while Lincecum got the lose. Cody Ross only got one hit off of Halladay during this game and it was an RBI double. Another travel day but this time both teams traveled from the West coast to the East coast. The first game back in Philadelphia the series was over. Unlike the Texas Rangers, the San Francisco Giants won the series infront of opposing fans. This game was awesome probably my favorite postseason game ever! Brawls, I love them. During the 2nd inning Chase Utley was unintentionally hit by a pitch by Jonathan Sanchez, Chase Utley wasn't a fan of this and while he was taking his base the ball bounced into his hands so he tossed it back to Jonathan Sanchez. Jonathan Sanchez was not a fan of that. Chase Utley and Aubrey Huff had some words. Then the benches started to clear on both sides. The umps did a really good job of seperating it, though I really wanted some fists flying... Anyhow, no one was ejected but Giants manager, Bruce Bochy, took Jonathan Sanchez out of the game and replaced him with Jeremy Affeldt. Tim Lincecum came into relieve during the 8th inning while Brian Wilson warmed up, Lincecum, only his 2nd relief appearance, pitched to 3 batters allowing 2 hits and striked 1 out. Brian Wilson then pitched the final 2 outs of the 8th inning and then 3 outs in the 9th inning for the save. Brian Wilson gave up two walks in the ninth but no hits or runs, and the last out was a strike out to Ryan Howard, also looking just like Game 6 of the ALCS.
I loved both championship series. As a Yankee hater, the ALCS was great watching them get beat and when they were it was bad. Also watching there fans leave Yankee Stadium was awesome! But baseball wise the NLCS was the best with many close games. You weren't sure which team was going to win. Also now with the Rangers and Giants in the World Series, it can be called the Underdog Series. Since both of the losing teams in the championship series have been to the World Series many, many times it makes it much more of a 'cinderella' story in the making, specially since this is the first time the Rangers have been in the World Series.

Cowboys Beat Themselves, yet again; Cowboys vs. Vikings.
Both Cowboys and Vikings came into the game 1-3. Cowboys came out 1-4 and Vikings 2-3 with a final score of 23-21. Vikings did not beat the Cowboys, the Cowboys beat the Cowboys. Another horrendous game of penalties. The Cowboys officially had 11 penalties called, for 91 penalty yards. Many, many false starts and offsides. How hard is it to wait till the ball to be snapped? Isn't these things you should know how to do before you even play in junior high football? The Cowboys are horribly coached on both sides of the ball. I've always disliked Jason Garrett, him and every coach on the staff needs to be fired, like right now. The Cowboys have enough money to hire Bill Cowher. The Cowboys will probably end the season with only 1 to 3 wins, the Lions and Rams will have a better record then them. They will have the 1st overall pick in the draft, maybe they can use it to trade for the Dolphins coaching staff, the Dolphins only had 4.9 penalties called on average per game in 2009, 2nd fewest in the league, and 4.2 average this season while the Cowboys has had 9.5 penalties per game this season, fewest this season in the league.
Miles Austin had a great touchdown to put the Cowboys up 14-7 in the 1st half but it was called back by an offensive passer interference call he had commited. The Cowboys had the Vikings on a 4th down in the end of the 4th quarter to give the Cowboys good field position to stage a comeback but of course there was a passer interference call that gave them about 13 yards and a first down.
There was no good parts in this game for the Cowboys, and the fans. I was never at one point happy for a touchdown besides the first one where Miles Austin drew a celebration penalty, one celebration penalty in the past two games not both on Miles Austin. The Cowboys had the most passing, receiving, and penalty yards. The Vikings only had the top rusher of the game, Adrian Peterson. Tony Romo threw for 220 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. The interceptions were horrible! Just like the one he threw at the end of the lose to the Titans. I have a feeling he doesn't know what our jerseys look like, he throws straight to the other team. Seriously? Both interceptions were caught by E.J. Henderson, he had 0 interceptions before the game but thanks to Tony he has 2 to add to his stats. Felix Jones had the most Cowboys rushing yards and the games most receiving yards with 32 yards rushing and 61 yards receiving. Roy Williams had 3 catches, 2 of them were for touchdowns. Also Dez Bryant had 1 catch, which was his first career touchdown. The Cowboys sacked Favre 3 times and knocked him down a bit, enough to have the crowd ask for a flag each hit.
The Vikings offense was horrible besides Adrian Peterson. Brett Favre threw for only 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Top Viking receiver was Randy Moss with 5 catches for 55 yards. Adrian Peterson fumbled the ball in the 1st quarter but he forgot about that quickly with rushing for 73 yards and 1 touchdown, which isn't really that great of numbers. The first play of the 2nd half Percy Harvin ran the kick off back for a touchdown.
I will never quit being a fan with the going gets tough, but as a fan I reserve the right to talk shit about them and say they suck. I will threaten to quit being a fan or become a band wagon fan but I never I will. It just sucks, sucks being a fan of a love/hate team that's going through tough times specially when the hopes were so high.
